Spectator & Family Code of Conduct Policy

Purpose & Core Principles

Avalon Minor Football (AMF) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and positive athletic environment for all participants. The attitudes, language, and behavior demonstrated by parents, guardians, siblings, family members, and visitors directly influence young athletes' conduct and their respect for teammates, opponents, game officials, coaches, and league executive members.

To uphold these values, AMF enforces a strict standard of conduct for all spectators present at any league field, facility, or sanctioned event.

Expected Standards of Conduct

All spectators and family members are expected to:

  • Support all players, coaches, and officials in a positive and encouraging manner.

  • Refrain from using profane, aggressive, threatening, or derogatory language.

  • Respect all decisions made by game officials and field staff without argument or confrontation.

  • Promote good sportsmanship and model respectful behavior for young athletes at all times.

Disciplinary Escalation Protocol

In the event of inappropriate, disruptive, aggressive, or non-compliant behavior, field management personnel will enforce the following multi-stage corrective action procedure:

Stage 1: First Incident — Verbal Warning

  • The individual will receive an immediate formal verbal warning outlining the disruptive behavior.

  • The individual must acknowledge the warning and immediately rectify their conduct.

Stage 2: Second Incident — Field Removal & Documentation

  • The individual will be instructed to leave the field and facility grounds immediately for the remainder of the session/game.

  • The incident will be officially documented and logged with the AMF Executive Board.

Stage 3: Recurring Violations — Season Ban

  • If an individual engages in repeated or recurring disruptive conduct following a second incident, they will be required to leave the facility immediately and will be banned from attending all AMF games, practices, and events for the remainder of the current season.

Enforcement Authority

The authority to issue warnings, order field removals, and enforce this policy rests with any of the following designated representatives present during the incident:

  • Executive Board Members

  • Game & Field Officials

  • Head & Assistant Coaches

  • Field Marshals

  • Team Managers

Compliance & Right of Appeal

Failure to leave the premises upon request under Stage 2 or Stage 3 may result in game suspension or extended disciplinary action against the associated player's registration. Appeals regarding season bans must be submitted in writing to the AMF Complaints Committee per the league's official grievance policy.
